I'm very excited to announce the day has finally come. FUZE, the first book in the Lexi Mills series, is out now! For those of you who may remember, Lexi first debuted in the 4th Boston book, Sign of the Maker. Since first creating her character, I sought to build a series around her. But the true genesis of the series came from a special little girl in my life. Story to follow.
I was asked, or better yet, moved by that special little someone to create a badass female character who is a better representation of the person she sees herself as. She told me that none of the characters in books or seen on the screen matched what she envisioned. With my marching orders in hand, I set forth on my tasking. Accomplishing it was another undertaking altogether. As I worked to refine and build out the series, I came to a realization...my vision for the story was clear. Matching the voice with authenticity would require the right perspective, and more importantly, the right co-author.
Many have asked me how I go about selecting the right co-author for a project. My answer is simple. It varies depending on the project. The uniqueness of Lexi's character led me to Stacy Lynn Miller. Her voice has breathed life into Lexi in a way I would have never dreamed possible. Stacy is a true talent, a rare gem, who I couldn't be happier to work with. Our partnership has created one of the freshest stories I've ever had the pleasure of working on.
I've received feedback from several of the advanced reading group who have touted this book as being one of the best they've read to date. I'm hoping that after giving it a read, you'll agree. This is a high-octane thriller with a tenacious investigator at its helm. Fuze is one of those books that grabs you from the opening scene and keeps you holding on for a wild ride until its epic conclusion.
The Fuze is lit...and Lexi Mills is about to explode into the literary world. Be there from the start!
I can't thank you enough for all the support and encouragement you've shown me over the years. I hope to continue to honor that with this series.
It's launch day, or as many writers call it, Pub Day. I'll choose the latter since I'm raising a glass in your direction. And of course it's always half-full! Cheers!
Readers Rule!
Best,
Brian

Every parent has had one of those days when it’s nonstop from the moment you roll out of bed. Get the kids dressed, pack lunches, check homework, run errands, play chauffeur throughout the day, let the mess in the sink sit for another night, and collapse in bed after the last child falls asleep.
Now, imagine that type of day, where a dozen innocent lives hang in the balance, and you’re surrounded by bombs everywhere you go courtesy of the madman you’ve been chasing. That’s the type of day Lexi Mills is about to have in Proximity. Tony Belcher, the zealot Lexi blames for killing her partner, is out for revenge and much more. This is one story you won’t want to put down.
Proximity is out now in all formats! Grab your copy below.

With spring underway, I did a little computer cleaning and came to a disturbing conclusion: If the FBI ever got hold of my web browser history from when I researched topics for Impact, the latest Lexi Mills installment, they would place me on the terrorist watch list in a heartbeat.
Brian gave me an incredible, action-packed outline to work from, but geez louise, did I have to do my homework. Brushing up on the newest leg prosthetic technology and learning the optimum angle to take a curve at high speed were benign, but the rest would set off bells. I had to learn the intricacies of small-scale electromagnetic pulse emitters, the ins and outs of the nation’s nuclear stockpile storage facilities, and how to build a dirty bomb from scratch.
As if that wasn’t enough to put the FBI hot on my trail, I researched current nuclear transport security protocols despite being very familiar with the process. I could have relied on my experience working in the nuclear missile field as a USAF Security Forces officer in the late 1980s, but much of the technology used for transporting nuclear material has changed since I was on active duty. My digging yielded one fun fact: many of the tactics we used during the stone age are still used today. Some things are simply tried and true.
I’m happy to report that the research also paid off while writing the next book in the series, Pressure, which will be released this July. Brian and I bring back many of the characters you’ve come to love and introduce a few new ones to help Lexi chase another criminal mastermind responsible for killing someone close to her.
Buckle up for the second half of the Lexi Mills series coming this fall. The stories will blow you away while tugging at your heart. We know your time is precious, so thanks for joining Brian and me on Lexi’s journey.

Remote, the fifth installment in the Lexi Mills Series, was a joy to write. When Brian handed me the outline, he said, “Dealer’s choice. You choose the location.” That was music to my ears. I’d been dying to set a Lexi Mills story in my own backyard, so I rolled up my sleeves for a literary trip to the beautiful Sierra Foothills of Northern California. Many scenes will take you through a region between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe that is simply divine. Having traveled the country and lived in several states during my twenty-year military career, I consider the area one of the best places to live.
The story opens deep in the Tahoe National Forest, not far from where my parents called home for two decades. The action starts with the death of a senator’s assistant, aided by experimental military technology cool enough to make James Bond giddy.
In comes Lexi Mills. Over the last four books, she defused bombs and took down the bad guys by always using the right tools. In short, technology had been her friend. Remote changes that dynamic when her nemesis unleashes the new technology against her, making her usual tools useless. With the President involved, the stakes couldn’t be higher, and Lexi’s ability to MacGyver her way out of a pickle is put to the ultimate test.
I hope you’ll enjoy reading Remote. It’s one of those stories that, months later, still winds its way into my dreams.

Good news for Noah Black fans. He’s back!
When developing the sixth book in the Lexi Mills series, Brian and I focused on one thing: creating a flashpoint to bring Lexi’s team together again. We couldn’t end this arc without surrounding our hero with familiar faces and the one partner she trusted the most—Noah Black. Noah, Kaplan Shaw, Maxwell Keene, Coby Vasquez, and Lathan Sinclair are all back to help her snare the Raven in a final showdown. Lexi’s new crew will mix with the old team, and one won’t survive. There will be misdirection, surprises, and a bloody confrontation that pushes Lexi to the line she swore never to cross.
Brian and I thank you for joining us on Lexi’s journeys. It’s been a pleasure creating this unique character and a world in which a badass like her exists. The conclusion, we trust, will leave you hoping our nation’s law enforcement is filled with heroes like Lexi Mills to face the evil in this world. We like to think they exist, and we will continue writing characters and stories that feed our optimism.
Brian and I leave you with Lexi’s words of encouragement. No matter how hard the challenge is, you are stronger than you realize.
